Scott Oldham comes from Sparta, a small town in North Carolina, but has lived in Smyth County since 2009. Scott is a graduate of Alleghany High School, where he interned for the district attorney's office for a semester and developed a passion for working in the field of law. He also worked for a semester with the Alleghany County Sheriff’s office as well.
Scott graduated from high school early to begin his training for the Army at Fort Lenard Wood, where he was licensed to drive and was an administrative assistant to the Captain and the First Sargent in the orderly room. After training, he went on to Fort Bragg, North Carolina where he also assisted the Captain and First Sargent. After gaining the rank of Specialist, Scott went on to serve in the Virginia National Guard.
After the Army, Scott attended Virginia Highlands Community College, where he received his Health Care Technician I & II Certificates. After Virginia Highlands Community College Scott began working with the elderly. He enjoyed his work with the elderly and continued work as a staff person at a Health Care Agency for the elderly.
Scott has been employed with Mountain Empire Legal since spring of 2017 and has gained knowledge of Wills, Revocable and Irrevocable Trusts, Powers of Attorney and Health Care Documents. Scott has gained knowledge in Elder Law and how it affects our community. Scott enjoys working with people and seeing how the work that Mountain Empire Legal Services does can help the people of Smyth and surrounding counties.
